Responsibilities
Engage in regular professional development opportunities, including training sessions, workshops, and special assignments, to build skills essential for a career in student-athlete academic support
Gain a successful understanding of NCAA rules and regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements
Provide personalized academic advising to a caseload of student-athletes
Assist with course selection and academic planning to ensure timely progress toward graduation
Track student-athlete academic performance through meetings and monitoring Canvas observer role
Build and sustain professional, respectful relationships with students, staff, and university stakeholders
Communicate effectively with the use of professional language, ensuring confidentiality and upholding ethical standards
Provide support for a multitude of other projects and responsibilities that are housed within SAAS
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
Preferred
Master's degree
Previous graduate assistantship or internship in a student-athlete support center
Relevant experience working in a collegiate athletic academic advising office
Desire to enter the professional field of athletic academic services
