Inclusion Support Leader - Wesley Chapel District Park

Forsyth County is looking for an Inclusion Support Leader to join their team. This role is responsible for developing and implementing behavioral and social skills programs for campers with disabilities, ensuring they can fully participate in camp activities. The Inclusion Support Leader will coach counselors, facilitate inclusive activities, and communicate with parents to enhance the camp experience for all.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Facilitate and coach counselors through the development and implementation of behavior interventions plans and crisis plans for identified students
Provides support and instruction to campers and staff, utilizing research based methodologies of inclusion
Implement and coach camp personnel on research-based methods of classroom management and behavioral strategies
Complete all reporting requirements as mandated by the department, state, and federal agencies
Facilitate in the planning and implementation of activities that are accessible and enjoyable with adaptations that are recommended for each child’s participation
Communicating regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on their child's experience at camp and solicit feedback on individual needs and goals
Assist with camper crisis intervention
Lift and carry equipment or campers up to 50 pounds, pull and push heavy items
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Possession of a high school diploma or GED
Trained in applied behavior analysis or an equivalent course or training
Trained in approved positive behavioral strategies used to prevent or de-escalate behavior
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
Must successfully pass a background check prior to start of camp
Knowledge of federal and state laws related to exceptional student education
Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate groups to consensus
Ability to effectively engage in the problem-solving process
Ensuring the safety and well-being of campers with disabilities, including implementing emergency procedures, and addressing any functional or behavioral needs
Knowledge of how to use and model research-based classroom management and individualized behavioral interventions
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, orally and in writing, including electronic media
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage work assignments in an efficient manner and within established timeframes
Must be able to bend, stoop and squat frequently
Have the auditory, physical and visual abilities to help campers during critical incidents and emergencies
Lift and carry equipment or campers up to 50 pounds, pull and push heavy items
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred
Valid CPR and First Aid certificates prior to start of orientation, is preferred
