Roadway Engineer
Metric Geo is seeking a talented and motivated Roadway Design Engineer to join their team in Orlando. The role involves producing roadway and transportation designs, managing project tasks, collaborating with clients, mentoring less experienced engineers, and assisting in business development efforts.
Responsibilities
Produce roadway and transportation designs for new construction and rehabilitation projects, ensuring they meet all client and regulatory standards
Lead and manage project tasks, including schedule and budget oversight, and coordinate effectively with other team members
Attend client meetings, participate in proposals and presentations, and liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure project success
Manage, train, and mentor less experienced engineers, guiding them in the production of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E)
Assist in local marketing efforts, such as proposal preparation, participating in professional chapter meetings, and attending municipal functions and meetings
Qualification
Required
5-20+ years of experience in highway, interchange, and roadway design
Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) familiar with FDOT Standards for Design
Proficiency in MicroStation V8i software, Bentley InRoads/ORD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Detail-oriented, a self-starter, and proficient in both verbal and written communication
Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and manage small design groups and projects effectively
Preferred
Experience in drainage design
