Staff Accountant
Facilities Maintenance Management, LLC. (FMM) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join their commercial real estate management team. This role is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of a diverse portfolio, including managing complex lease structures and property level financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Manage the full-cycle accounting for assigned portfolio of properties, including month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
Review and interpret commercial office, retail, and industrial leases to ensure accurate billing of base rent, Opex, and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations
Oversee tenant billings, process rent payments, and manage vendor invoices and disbursements specific to property maintenance and operations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages for property owners and stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP
Utilize Yardi for property management accounting and QuickBooks for corporate or auxiliary entity tracking
Assist Property Managers in the preparation of annual operating budgets and mid-year re-forecasts
Prepare work papers and provide documentation for year-end tax preparation and external audits
Qualification
Required
2+ years of hand's on experience with Yardi (Voyager/Breeze) and QuickBooks Online/Desktop
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables and complex formulas)
Solid understanding of commercial real estate accounting principles, specifically regarding Office Leases: Understanding of load factors, TI (Tenant Improvement) allowances, and rent steps
Knowledge of percentage rent calculations and anchor tenant complexities for Retail Leases
Experience with NNN (Triple Net) structures and utility reimbursements for Industrial Leases
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
2–4 years of accounting or billing experience preferred
