They are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Content Creator to capture and share the essence of their programs through high-quality video and photo content, working closely with the leadership team.

Responsibilities
Capture high-quality photo and video content at GISF programs and events (San Diego-based, travel required)
Translate real moments into short- and mid-form storytelling for Instagram, LinkedIn, and related channels
Own the full creative pipeline: shoot → edit → polish → deliver → post
Create content that feels human, cinematic, and emotionally resonant, not staged or corporate
Collaborate closely with GISF leadership to shape story arcs, campaigns, and narrative themes
Help elevate and evolve GISF’s visual identity and content quality over time
Qualification
Required
Strong storytelling instincts - you know how to find the moment that matters
Excellent cinematography skills (framing, movement, lighting, sound)
A refined eye for photo and video editing with a clean, modern finish
A genuine interest in STEM (science communications experience preferred) and a technical mindset
Comfort working in dynamic, real-world environments (kids, movement, live events)
An eye for quality - most of our board comes from the entertainment and storytelling world, so standards can be high
Preferred
Experience filming in classrooms, community spaces, or live events
Familiarity with short-form social content that still feels intentional and elevated
Interest in STEAM, education, robotics, or mission-driven work
Based in or near Los Angeles strongly preferred
Open to a single multi-talented creator (preferred), though flexible for exceptional skill sets
