Responsibilities
Prepares monthly reconciliations for designated balance sheet accounts
Assists with generation and preparation of accurate monthly financial statements and other operational accounting reports
Assists Director of Accounting and external auditors in annual financial audit
Supervises, reviews and approves the work of the accounting staff
Fills in for Director of Accounting in his/her absence
Qualification
Required
5 years of accounting experience with a background in financial statement preparation, including AP, AR, GL and Payroll
Proficiency with Excel spreadsheet software
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with a high level of detail, accuracy and confidentiality
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or 10 years of progressive experience
Strong accounting and finance skills, including financial reporting, account reconciliation, and audit support
Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheet tools, and financial systems
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance standards
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in an on-site, collaborative environment in Aventura, FL
5+ years of relevant accounting experience
Preferred
Knowledge of JD Edwards
CPA or CMA certification
Experience in the senior living, hospitality, or healthcare industry
