Responsibilities
Design and manage the development and implementation of manufacturing fixtures for new and existing products from start to finish
Create and maintain accurate 2D drawings and 3D models of trailers designs through the utilization of CAD Software
Participate in cross-functional team design reviews to evaluate product designs for function, manufacturability, and aesthetics
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate product costs, analyze cost drivers, and support cost-reduction initiatives
Engage in prototyping new products
Support and generate comprehensive documentation that encompasses design specifications, work/assembly instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flows
Provide proficient technical support to manufacturing teams through the initial build process and address any design-related hurdles during manufacturing
Reverse engineer components for design adaptations and provide creative solutions
Create, maintain, and audit accurate Bill of Material (BOM) data within the ERP system
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, agriculture, industrial, or manufacturing engineering (or related field) with at least 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
Strong understanding of mechanical system design, dimensions, tolerances, tool design, fabrication methods, BOM creation, and cost analysis
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time with close attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Pass preemployment drug screen is required
Preferred
Experience in a new product design environment, preferred
Experience with sheet metal and hydraulics a plus
Experience with CAD software and ERP systems (SolidWorks preferred, QuickBooks, etc.)
