2+ years expDose Steelworks, a family-owned company, is seeking a detail-oriented Drafter/Designer. This role will work with internal cross-functional teams and outside customers to create new and enhance existing products, focusing on generating design documentation and bills of materials.

Responsibilities
Create and maintain accurate 2D drawings and 3D models of trailers designs with technical specifications through the utilization of CAD Software
Participate in cross-functional team design reviews to evaluate product designs for proper documentation
Collaborate with designers to identify critical dimensions
Generate comprehensive documentation that encompasses technical design diagrams and specifications, work/assembly instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flows
Compose manuals for new and existing products highlighting operation, features, and maintenance
Reverse engineer components for design adaptations and provide creative solutions
Create, maintain, and audit accurate Bill of Material (BOM) data within the ERP system
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in mechanical design, engineering & design technology, or related field with at least 2-5 years of experience in drafting or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, BOM creation
Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
Proficient technical writing skills
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time with close attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Pass preemployment drug screening required

Experience with sheet metal a plus
