Responsibilities
Design and build the high-performance core services for computational geometry, generative AI, and real-time simulation
Own and optimize data persistence and query performance for large-scale geospatial and engineering datasets
Co-architect the microservices and data pipelines (e.g., using Python/FastAPI, Go) that handle complex calculations and deliver results to the front-end over Socket.IO
Implement robust testing, observability, and monitoring for all core platform components in a containerized (Docker) environment
Collaborate deeply with geometry, R&D, and front-end engineers to rapidly ship new, full-stack civil-engineering capabilities
Ensure the platform’s scalability and reliability as we transition to shipping product and beyond
Qualification
Required
Strong experience (3+ years) building and scaling robust backend systems in Python (e.g., FastAPI/Django) or Go
Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling for high-throughput applications
Proven expertise in designing and implementing performant, well-tested APIs and real-time communication layers (WebSockets, Socket.IO)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD best practices
Discipline around testing (unit, integration) and clean, modular code design
Utilize AI coding tools and environments judiciously
Git mastery and experience deploying and maintaining production services
Preferred
Experience with training or deploying machine learning or AI models, especially in a generative or spatial context
Exposure to GIS, CAD/BIM data, or civil engineering concepts
Early-stage startup experience (0 → 1 or 1 → 10)
Experience with real-time data processing, queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, Redis), or event sourcing
