Responsibilities
Strategic Architecture & Design: Architect the entire network from scratch, including the primary/backup WAN strategy (Starlink), a segmented LAN, and high-density wireless coverage for 40+ guest pods and operational buildings. Develop and own the long-term technology roadmap for scalable growth
Lead Physical Infrastructure Planning: Directly oversee and coordinate with construction teams on the installation of all network conduit, fiber optic cabling, and critical power to network closets. Develop the technical standards for all low-voltage installations
Hands-On Deployment & Implementation: Install, configure, and manage core network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers) and integrated security systems. Ensure seamless connectivity for all operational software
Uphold Mission Through Technology: Design with the principle of "Invisible Support." Create systems that facilitate guest connection and safety through intuitive, managed technology, never digital distraction
Establish Governance & Resilience: Implement robust monitoring, redundancy, and disaster recovery procedures. Establish foundational security policies, operational procedures, and documentation from the ground up
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and architecture, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead architect role designing and deploying networks for remote sites, large campuses, or hospitality venues
Proven, end-to-end project ownership: Demonstrated experience with the full lifecycle from initial design and physical infrastructure planning (conduit, fiber) to vendor coordination, hands-on hardware configuration, and deployment
Deep technical expertise in enterprise-grade routing, switching, firewalling, and large-scale Wi-Fi design. Direct experience with satellite WAN (e.g., Starlink) is a major plus
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical plans for construction managers and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in mentoring and establishing best practices is highly valued
A problem-solving mindset, comfort with ambiguity in a startup environment, and a palpable passion for mission-driven work that aligns with conservation and human well-being
