Assistant Professor in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
The University of Kentucky’s Pigman College of Engineering seeks to expand faculty expertise in manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-impact research, advising graduate students, and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical and aerospace engineering, as well as electrical and computer engineering.

Responsibilities
Develop a nationally recognized research program
Advise graduate students and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical and aerospace engineering, electrical and computer engineering, or the online master’s program in manufacturing systems engineering
Collaborate with faculty and staff to advance the mission of the Institute of Sustainable Manufacturing
Engage in federally funded research projects from various agencies
Provide service to the departments, professional organizations, and the community
Qualification
Required
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or computer engineering, or a closely related field
The successful candidate will have a strong record of academic scholarship
The successful candidate will have excellent potential for conducting high-impact research
The successful candidate must demonstrate the capability to develop a nationally recognized research program
The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to advising graduate students
The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical and aerospace engineering, electrical and computer engineering, or the online master's program in manufacturing systems engineering
Candidates must also be committed to providing service to the departments, professional organizations, and the community
