Responsibilities
Complete Quality Risk Assessment and Process Mapping for a minimum of 3 Waterford Assets including process mapping
Test method optimization under direction of Quality Chemist
Complete trend analysis on defect data to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Formulate solutions and improvement plan
Support of IATF Certification and GLIMS project teams
Benchmark and evaluate external test labs to develop scope of business plan to sell a selection of Quality tests externally
MES for the Lab, work with Lean Techs, pilot a portion of the upcoming rollout / changes
Work on 5 year CapEx plan for the labs, put together all of the separate documents into a single plan. Turn into a working file for future reference
Develop technician training plan for new lab technicians onboarding to Quality Control Laboratories
Qualification
Required
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or a related technical discipline
Attention to detail - ability to document new processes and procedures
Self-starter - Proactively identify new opportunities to drive efficiencies in Quality and Service at Waterford, NY site
Computer skills including Excel and Powerpoint. Minitab or other statistical analysis tool preferred
Knowledge of Basic statistics and/or successful completion of university-level mathematics courses
Prior experience training or teaching technical topics to small groups considered a plus
The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship
The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August
Preferred
Minitab or other statistical analysis tool preferred
Prior experience training or teaching technical topics to small groups considered a plus
