Responsibilities
Serving as the Lead Designer and Senior Level Engineer for preparation of construction documents for minor and major roadway, sidewalk, shoulder improvements, and drainage design projects
Assisting a project manager with tasks associated with plan preparation, cost estimates, report writing, client coordination and permitting
Collaborating with the team as well as outside agencies and client interaction
Qualification
Required
A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology is required
PE registration, within the State of Georgia, is required
Experience must include a minimum of 10 years of transportation design related experience
Software design experience should include working with Microstation V8i and OpenRoads
Past experience should consist of working as the Lead or Senior Level Designer for the projects described
Past responsibilities should include certain project management functions to assist the Project Manager for larger projects or operating as more of a Deputy Project Manager for smaller projects with local or private clients
Preferred
Construction experience is optional, but considered a plus if achieved in addition to direct design experience
Autocad and other additional cad platforms will be beneficial, but not required
Experience with GDOT's previously adopted platform of Microstation V7 and CaiCE is accommodating, but not required
Related experience should consist of working directly with GDOT and the Plan Development Process, GDOT collaborative projects with local counties or municipalities, and other local projects utilizing GDOT standards and specifications
