Financial Analyst (Non-Exempt)

Mercy is a healthcare organization seeking a Financial Analyst to assist with the monthly financial statement close process and issuance of financial statements. The role involves maintaining financial accounts, assisting with budget preparation, and acting as a liaison during financial audits.

Responsibilities

Assist with monthly financial statement close process and issuance of financial statements, including capturing and reporting of monthly financial data, statistics and other financial indicators
Responsible for maintenance of specific entity financial accounts, including reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts
Assist with budget preparation tasks as needed
Work as a liaison between the Finance staff and the external financial audit team during both interim and final audits
Act as a resource to other co-workers within and outside of the Finance department and perform other specific projects/duties as necessary

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related, or equivalent experience
Two (2) years accounting experience, preferably health care related
High level of proficiency in general ledger & PC applications, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc
Strong interpersonal communication skills, analytical abilities and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Ability to work with and preserve confidential information
Works independently on assigned tasks
Able to self-review and identify/correct errors

Preferred

Bachelors degree
CPA Certification is a plus
Three to Five (3-5) years experience in health care setting
Lawson skills highly preferred
Experience in the preparation of consolidating financial statements including consolidating and eliminating entries
