Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software engineers by providing ongoing feedback and supporting career development
Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and training process for new engineers
Conduct effective 1-on-1 meetings and performance reviews
Ensure strong communication between engineers and stakeholders
Align team priorities with organizational goals in collaboration with engineering and product leadership
Work with product managers, designers, and QA to translate business goals into technical solutions and milestones
Participate in architectural reviews and guide technical decisions and best practices
Enable the team to deliver high-quality, maintainable code via Agile methodologies
Conduct code reviews, design discussions, and incident response
Remove blockers and help troubleshoot complex issues
Develop, test, and maintain high-quality code
Establish, document, and optimize team processes to improve delivery and quality
Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices
Support the evaluation and integration of new technologies
Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and performance management of direct reports
Oversee team workflow and ensure effective allocation of tasks
Address discipline or termination as required (with HR support and in accordance with company policy)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (6+ years in the industry)
2+ years of experience leading or managing software engineers
Proven experience as a software engineer with expertise in web development
Strong technical background with proficiency in modern frameworks
Experience with software architecture, design patterns, and RESTful API design
In-depth experience building and deploying applications using AWS services
Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle technical challenges
Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical concepts
Experience with agile methodologies, version control systems (e.g., Git), and code review processes
Preferred
Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
Familiarity with UI/UX principles
Prior experience delivering web applications at scale
Knowledge of secure coding practices and testing frameworks
