Responsibilities
Evaluate financial stability and creditworthiness of small business applicants seeking working capital
Review financial documents including bank statements, tax returns, and credit reports to assess repayment ability
Build and maintain financial models to analyze cash flow, revenue performance, and key financial ratios
Recommend funding amounts, pricing, and deal structures in accordance with company underwriting policies
Partner with originators and credit leadership to ensure proposed deals align with the firm’s risk appetite
Document underwriting decisions clearly and maintain complete records in the company’s credit systems
Track performance of funded deals to identify early risk indicators or changes in borrower behavior
Stay informed on industry trends, competitor practices, and evolving risk factors in the business financing landscape
Qualification
Required
Completion of Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics (advanced degree or certification a plus)
2+ years of experience in credit underwriting, risk management, or financial analysis for Merchant Cash Advance lending
Strong grasp of financial statement interpretation and credit metrics
Proficiency with Excel and experience in credit analysis or underwriting software tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to make data-driven recommendations and manage multiple deals simultaneously
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
Preferred
Familiarity with the MCA industry or other non-bank financing products
