Accounts Payable Specialist
Pinnacle Partners, Inc is looking for a Contract Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team for a 3-6 month period. The role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable (includes invoicing, cash applications, and vendor/customer maintenance)
Setting up new customers and vendors in the ERP system
Prepare and process ACH payments and check runs
Perform bank reconciliations and cash applications
Prepare and file sales and tax returns
Reconcile inventory balances (raw materials, WIP, finished goods)
Collaborate with production and shipping to ensure inventory accuracy
Maintain inventory valuation schedules
Document accounting procedures and contribute to creating SOP manuals
Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
Support and advise the accounting team on routine activities and continuous improvement
Crosstrain in other areas of accounting to provide flexible support during absence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related preferred
Working with purchase orders and 3 way match
2+ years of accounting experience
Manufacturing experience is required
Intermediate MS Excel (including PivotTables, VLOOKUP's)
Knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, BOM and inventory valuation is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
Professional demeanor, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Adaptable and able to work with diverse personality types in a team setting
