Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight
Oversee and perform daily AP operations, including invoice intake, coding, posting, and supporting documentation
Manage hands-on ACH payment processing (manual and automated), check runs, and wire payments, ensuring timely and accurate execution
Serve as primary point of contact for vendor communications, resolving invoicing discrepancies, payment inquiries, and account issues
Oversee AP email inbox and ticket workflow to ensure timely responses and issue resolution
Perform and review daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare and review account reconciliations and general ledger analysis for major balance sheet accounts
Oversee expense management processes, including Concur expense reports, month-end journal entries, and reconciliations
Manage WEX (gas) card and per diem card programs, including monthly reconciliations and journal entries
Process facility lease expense vouchers and recurring invoices on a monthly basis
Run weekly AP aging reports and manage payment prioritization
Ensure compliance with multi-state sales tax filings and company business license and annual filing requirements
Support and participate in the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries
Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other business teams to resolve challenges, improve workflows, and drive process efficiencies
Support ERP system usage and enhancements related to AP processes
Qualification
Required
5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including team leadership or management responsibilities
Hands-on experience with ACH payment runs, vendor relations, and high-volume invoice processing
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience
Advanced Excel skills and experience working within major ERP systems
Strong understanding of AP controls, compliance, and best practices
