Research Scientist
The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a dynamic and motivated researcher with a strong background in cancer research, regenerative medicine, and tissue engineering. The scientist will conduct independent research projects, manage laboratory operations, and mentor junior members while contributing to significant advancements in the field.

Responsibilities
Conducts independent scientific research projects from inception to presentation
Prepares and crafts various documentations of research results into manuscripts, proposals, grant applications, and presentations
Trains undergraduates and research technicians
Manages laboratory policies and coordinates project development in collaboration with other specialists
Design, execute, analyze, interpret, document, and prepare for publication experiments and their products in support of the laboratory’s mission
Bring expertise in single-cell RNA sequencing, whole genome transcriptome and proteome, multi-dimensional flow cytometry, in vivo murine tumor models, in vitro models and CRISPR editing
Pursuing new and independent ideas, adopting and optimizing emerging techniques, and thriving in a collaborative team environment
Managing the logistics and operations of the laboratory as well as training and mentoring junior laboratory members, clinical fellows, and medical students
Work independently across multiple projects at a time
Work with collaborators across institutions
Qualification
Required
PhD in biomedical science
5 years of experience
Strong background in cancer research
Experience in regenerative medicine
Experience in tissue engineering
Expertise in single-cell RNA sequencing
Expertise in whole genome transcriptome and proteome
Expertise in multi-dimensional flow cytometry
Experience with in vivo murine tumor models
Experience with in vitro models
Experience with CRISPR editing
Ability to work independently across multiple projects
Highly analytical and organized
Ability to work with collaborators across institutions
Ability to manage laboratory policies
Ability to coordinate project development
Ability to train undergraduates and research technicians
Ability to mentor and supervise junior laboratory members, clinical fellows, and medical students
