Responsibilities
Under supervision, performs skilled work in connection with the fabrication, erection, assembly, alteration and repair of articles constructed of sheet metal, including sheet metal pipes, flues, ducts, gutters, bins and other items constructed of sheet metal
Qualification
Required
Graduation from a standard senior high school or the equivalent
Completion of an approved apprentice training program in sheet metal work, or an equivalent combination of experience and training
Additional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
Candidates must achieve a passing score on each test to be eligible to compete in each subsequent test and to have their names placed on the eligible list
Ability to demonstrate skill in performing sheet metal working tasks
Successful completion of a physical examination
Successful completion of a drug test
Evaluation of the candidate's ability to meet the specific physical demands of the job
