Responsibilities
Design, build, and enhance backend services and APIs for a high-impact employee engagement platform
Develop scalable services supporting survey delivery, response processing, and engagement analytics
Support platform modernization, including tech stack upgrades and ongoing remediation of technical debt
Work across both SQL and NoSQL data stores to support reliable and efficient data access patterns
Integrate backend services with AWS (AWS SDKs and cloud-native services)
Containerize services using Docker and support standardized deployment practices
Ensure platform services meet compliance requirements for security and privacy standards (OWASP, GDPR, CCPA)
Ensure platform services meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, Section 508)
Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams in an Agile environment
Qualification
Required
2–3 years of backend software engineering experience
Strong development experience with Java and/or Node.js
Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
Hands-on experience with Docker / containerization
Experience building cloud-integrated services using AWS SDKs
Strong API development fundamentals and backend engineering best practices
Preferred
Python experience
CI/CD exposure (GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
Experience or interest in integrating Generative AI models into backend applications
