Responsibilities
Greets, interviews and registers patients or their representative
Verifies patient, guarantor, subscriber and insurance information and enters same into department computer system
Completes required forms for patient registration
Obtains, secures and witnesses required consents/signatures
Provides information regarding Advance Directives, Patient Bill of Rights and Notice of Privacy Practices. Completes questionnaire regarding Advance Directives for the patient's medical record
Attaches vouchers to lab specimens and arranges transport to lab, as required
Performs final chart review, incorporates loose sheets and ensures that the entire chart assembly is completed on discharge
Facilitates patient transfers to Emergency department, as required
Answers phones courteously, responds to requests for information, directs calls or takes messages, files, photocopies, faxes information, maintains bulletin boards, etc
Performs receptionist duties for clinic. Reviews and maintains daily attendance log. Informs clinical team member of pending appointments
Photocopies and maintains supply of pertinent forms specific to unit
Reports all equipment needing repair and initiates work orders
Performs related duties as required
ADA Essential Functions
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
Minimum of one (1) year related registration/clerical experience with public contact, required
Typing 35 wpm, required
Good interpersonal skills to deal courteously with patients, families, physicians and all levels of hospital personnel, required
