Community Impact Manager
Charlotte Works is dedicated to leading the development of a skilled, future-ready workforce by uniting businesses, community partners, and job seekers. The Community Impact Manager will serve as a high-level connector for Mecklenburg County, designing the ecosystem that drives economic opportunity and overseeing strategic partnerships and community engagement programs.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison for the Charlotte Executive Leadership Council (CELC) and build deep relationships with employers, civic leaders, and educational institutions
Oversee community and employer engagement programs. You’ll lead fund development efforts (including grant writing) and co-design initiatives that close the skills gap for both youth and adults
Partner with our Impact and Economic teams to turn raw data and labor market insights into compelling narratives that showcase our regional influence to funders and the public
Collaborate across the Business Engagement and Programs divisions to ensure a cohesive, 'one-team' approach to workforce development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
5+ years of progressive experience in community engagement, partnership development, or workforce/economic development
Demonstrated success collaborating with public, private, and nonprofit stakeholders to launch impactful programs
Proficiency in MS Office and experience with CRM/database systems
Preferred
Business, Communications, Public Admin, or Education preferred
Master's degree is a plus
