Responsibilities
Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate month‑end and year‑end close
Prepare financial statements, budget-to-actual reports, and cash flow projections
Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring compliance with donor intent and grant requirements
Assist with preparation of financial materials for the Board of Directors
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Track grant expenditures and prepare financial reports for funders
Support the annual audit, including preparation of schedules and documentation
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local nonprofit financial regulations
Assist with tax filings (e.g., Form 990) in collaboration with external accountants
Support implementation of new tools or processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
Qualification
Required
Degree in Accounting or Finance
Nonprofit accounting experience
5+ years of accounting experience
