Senior Corporate Accountant
GNS North America, Inc. is a leader in stamping, laser cutting, and welding technologies. They are seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems while ensuring compliance and process improvements.
Responsibilities
Supports all aspects of accounting management
Ensures the internal controls and policies of the company are followed to comply with legislation and established best practices
Manages journal entries, invoices etc. and reconciles accounts for the monthly and annual closing
Assists in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation
Partners with the plant accounting teams to ensure coverage of all plant accounting functions during plant accounting team absences
Actively seeks and implements process improvements in business transactions and internal controls
Development of system controls to ensure data integrity
Assists in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Participates in preparation for the annual audit
Utilizes accounting IT systems to facilitate processes and maintain records
Maintains lease accounting software
Assists in special projects as necessary
Other duties may be assigned
Acts as a good steward of the Company’s resources and exemplifies the values of the Company
Ensures personal compliance with all Company policies, procedures, values, ethics, and rules
Maintains and promotes a safe work environment through ownership of Company safety program. This includes following and enforcing all safety rules/regulations and proper operating procedures, as well as the proper use of prescribed safety equipment pertinent to the department and immediately reporting all accidents/incidents to supervisor and Human Resources

Supports Company’s quality and environmental policies and programs and meets quality requirements specified for position. Meets quality requirements specified by production drawings, bills of materials, control plans, policies, work instructions, and procedures
Actively participates in and successfully completes appropriate training and that all training provided is evaluated and that proper documentation is provided for accurate maintenance of the employee’s training record
Meets with supervisor at least once per year to review job performance using this job description as a basis for appraisal
Maintains complete security and confidentiality of all Company records and employee data
Maintains a clean, orderly and professional work environment
Performs other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
a minimum of 10 years related experience in a finance/accounting environment (preferably in a manufacturing industry)
equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
Ability to formulate business plans with measurable desired outcomes, translates action plans into quantifiable and realistic goals associated with deadlines for self or others
Preferred
CPA or CMA certification preferred
