Water & Wastewater Lead Operations & Maintenance Technician in Wright City, Missouri

Responsibilities
Lead a team of workers in operations and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, including but not limited to mains, lift stations, booster stations
Oversee customer service to residents and businesses, including responding to inquiries and complaints, and providing information about water and wastewater services
Schedule and prioritize work orders and ensure that work is completed on time
Oversee meter reading and meter read edit request
Oversee utility locate requests and ensure compliance with regulations
Ensure team completes daily required operational site inspections
Train and mentor crew members in proper maintenance and repair techniques
Develop preventative maintenance schedules and assure compliance with the schedule and record keeping
Develops estimates for the repairs and maintenance
Coordinates projects with other departments and divisions as necessary
Manage inventory of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance and repair tasks
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures
Aid the plant operator with operations and maintenance of treatment facilities as needed
Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot issues in a timely and efficient manner
Cover for the manager during their absence, including managing staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring compliance with regulations
Perform all duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and wastewater maintenance and repair
Strong knowledge of water and wastewater systems and components
Experience leading a team of workers
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues
Applicants will possess proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel and maintenance management programs
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Valid commercial driver's license and ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment
Applicant must be able to understand and follow compliance standards
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment
Preferred
Water and wastewater certifications for Missouri (such as a minimum Class DSII or Class C certification) are highly preferred
