Responsibilities
10+ years of experience as a network engineer
4+ years of network design and/or solution engineering experience in SaaS environments
4+ years of network design or administration experience involving cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
4+ years of experience with •nix systems
Experience setting up, configuring, upgrading, running, and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches
Experience with VPN connections
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
Experience with Cisco lightweight wireless access points
Experience with Meraki networking solutions
Knowledge of networking features and protocols including Spanning Tree, ARP, CDP, EIGRP, OSPF, VTP, EtherChannel, 802.1Q trunking, MLS, HSRP, VSS/VSL, QoS, TCP/IP, UDP, IPsec, HTTP, HTTPS, Multicast, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, RADIUS/TACACS+, SNMP, WAN/MAN technologies, proxy/web caching services, and 802.1x
Experience with Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto technologies
Understanding of SDN/SDDC concepts and full stack environments spanning compute, storage, and network
Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, OpenStack, CloudStack, or similar technologies
Knowledge of subnetting, DNS, encryption technologies, VPNs, VLANs, VoIP, and network routing methods
Strong motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn
Creative problem solving abilities for technical challenges
Strong understanding of network design including IP subnetting and complex LAN/WAN routing techniques
Knowledge of routing and switching architectures
Knowledge of large scale network design
Knowledge of project life cycle management
Knowledge of network device installation and testing
Knowledge of virtualization technologies
Knowledge of secure network architectures including Zero Trust/BeyondCorp models
Knowledge of high availability network design
Hands on experience supporting scalable and reliable network architectures with fault tolerance
Hands on experience with performance tuning
Hands on experience with monitoring systems
Hands on experience collecting statistics and metrics
Hands on experience with disaster recovery processes
Expert level knowledge of transport protocols, routing protocols, and security/encryption protocols across all OSI layers, especially TCP/IP
Industry certifications such as CCNP or JNCP (preferred)
Experience with VoIP, call center systems, or related technologies (preferred)
