Director of Recruiting, New York City
COOP is building a diverse movement of upwardly mobile first-generation college grads overcoming underemployment through digital skills and peer connections. The Director of Recruiting will lead the NYC Recruiting team to meet enrollment targets, set vision and strategy, and cultivate strong relationships with colleges and community-based organizations.

Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and coaching to the NYC Recruiting team, facilitating ongoing skill development and coaching for Managers and Coordinators. Lead team meetings, set clear priorities, and manage individual performance to drive recruitment outcomes
Leverage data to assess impact, set and monitor goals, measure recruiting campaign effectiveness, and coach staff toward individual and team performance
Lead a candidate-centered, high-volume enrollment process, managing candidate communications via email, phone, and SMS. Facilitate group interviews and information sessions, and review application materials and eligibility documents to support timely and equitable admissions decisions
Execute the national enrollment and earned-revenue strategy at the regional level by managing regional recruiting pipelines, enrollment forecasts, and conversion performance; including collaborating with Program Success and Finance teams to achieve enrollment and earned-revenue targets
Lead recruiting partnership strategy with NYC college partners and community-based organizations, driving lead generation
Partner with Recruiting leadership, Program Success, Marketing, and Development teams to drive cross-functional alignment and ensure seamless coordination across recruitment, enrollment, and program delivery
Collaborate with the Managing Director of Recruiting and Managing Director of Finance to develop a regional recruiting budget; incorporate best practices for fiscal management
Partner with Recruiting leadership to set and operationalize a national vision for recruiting excellence, driving alignment, consistency, and best practices across regions
Develop a robust system of metrics, measurement framework, and evaluation tools to collect and track data, identify strengths, trends, growth areas, and opportunities for augmentation or enhancements to the recruiting process
Create reports, dashboards, documents, presentations, and other relevant materials to convey vision, progress, and timelines all relevant stakeholders
Collaborate with outside organizations, consultants, and other stakeholders to promote and/or enhance COOP’s recruiting outcomes and sustainability
Lead key working groups and cross-functional/cross-regional projects to drive recruiting efficiency and outcomes
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional experience in recruiting, enrollment, college admissions, and/or talent acquisition
Demonstrated experience managing people and/or teams
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and inform decision-making
Demonstrated strengths in relationship management, candidate engagement, and event planning
Strong project management skills
Proficient with CRM systems, Google workspace, and relevant technology platforms
Ability to regularly travel to college campuses and community events across the NYC area up to 4x per month (may fluctuate with business need)
Availability to work some evening hours, up to 6 days per month depending on business need
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Preferred
Demonstrated experience leading revenue-generating recruitment or admissions teams
Experience with first-generation and/or Pell-eligible college students
Knowledge of workforce development programs and/or trends
