Mainstream Engineering Corporation is seeking motivated thermal engineers to develop cutting-edge products for military, governmental, and commercial customers. The role involves designing and developing thermal systems and components, driving projects from conception to production, and engaging in laboratory testing and customer interfacing.

Responsibilities

Develop cutting-edge products for military, governmental, and commercial customers
Design systems specifically tuned for customers' needs
Extend the range of hypersonic vehicles
Enable power dense laser weapons on small platforms
Lower size, weight, and power for aerospace systems
Develop components including coldplates for electronics, heat exchangers, thermal energy storage devices, and mechanical components for thermal systems
Drive products from conception to production including product ideation, research, laboratory/prototype builds, experimental testing, and design for manufacture
Lead individual projects and research
Write proposals for new ideas
Perform analytical calculations
Conduct computational simulations (CFD and FEA)
Build and test in laboratory
Interface directly with customers

Qualification

Required

Hands-on laboratory test experience
BSME or MSME
US Citizenship required due to strict ITAR regulations
GPA not less than 3.3 for all degrees
Solid understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics
Experience with data acquisition systems (LabVIEW preferred) including temperature, pressure, flow, and other sensors

Preferred

CFD/FEA modeling (ANSYS/FLUENT) experience is a plus
