Information Specialist IV
The State of Utah is seeking an Information Specialist IV to support the Division’s mission by distributing accurate and timely information to various stakeholders. The role involves managing public affairs, developing communication strategies, and serving as the primary spokesperson for the Division.

Responsibilities
Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials
Creates, produces and implements instructional videos / web content
Edits written material for accuracy, format, and arrangement of material
Selects, produces, and/or completes artwork, layout and/or photographic or related services
Receives, researches and responds to incoming questions or complaints; provides information, explains policy and procedures, and/or facilitates a resolution
Provides technical assistance on agency issues, services, program(s), etc
Coordinates and/or acts as a liaison between agency or work unit and other agencies, work units, organizations, suppliers, etc
Maintains and/or creates files or record keeping systems. Sorts, labels, files and retrieves documents, or other materials
Communicate Division updates internally and externally
Create multimedia content for print and digital avenues to educate the public on the Division’s programs
Lead in the creation, production and implementation of instructional videos / web content
Write and edit material for accuracy, format, and arrangement of material
Prepare training materials / guides and coordinate Division training opportunities with outside agencies
Interact with media when needed. Including assisting with press releases, press conferences, media interviews, etc
Manage the Division’s social media accounts
Collaborate on creating and maintaining the Division’s brand and style guidelines
Qualification
Required
Writing and grammar skills
Proficient in photographing, graphic design and creating video content
Professional skills in the use of web content management and content editing
Excellent communications skills relating to researching, writing, editing and distributing press releases
Judgement in gauging public interest and response to stories and information
Working knowledge of social media platforms
Demonstrable skills in public relations and community relationship building
Working knowledge of strategic communications
Preferred
The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both visually and in writing using proper spelling, grammar and punctuation
Excellent communication skills including researching, writing, editing and distributing press releases
Strong background in public relations, strategic communications and community relations
Experience in journalistic writing, photography, graphic design and video recording content
Familiarity with and expertise in user interface and user experience, design and implementation
Knowledge of the standards and best practices of graphic design
