The Microsection Technician will provide cross-section analysis on final products to ensure structural integrity and generate reports for customers based on their specifications.

Responsibilities
Evaluate cross section samples in accordance with customer specifications, IPC and Mil specs
Generate cross section lab report and issue NCMR for non-conforming products
Prep micro section sample coupons including: baking, cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing specimens
Perform solderability and steam age testing
Assist Final QC in conforming with customer cross section requirements for shipping
Must meet all department quality and throughput requirements as well as follow all company policies and procedures
Must be flexible in working in various departments as needed and to include overtime needs
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated experience in a role requiring technical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively to employees of other departments concerning the disposition of cross-sections
Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Also must be able to demonstrate the ability to round-off numbers to the proper digit as identified on the blueprints
Must be able to comprehend and use the computer and basic software to generate reports, printout reports, take photos of cross-sections and save to the network. Must be able to send e-mails to appropriate personnel with attached photos as necessary
Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Must have very good concentration, must be able to remain focused with minor interruptions
Must have ability to pass eye exam with a minimum 20/20 vision that may be corrected via eye glasses or contact lenses as required. Eye exam is required annually
Preferred
1-2 Manufacturing experience
Experience with aerospace industry or AS9100 or OFAC helpful
Printed circuit board and quality experience a plus
