Human Resources Generalist

ESPEC North America is a partner in environmental and accelerated reliability test chambers and solutions. They are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support employees and managers by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, encompassing full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations.

Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Develops and distributes internal job postings, promoting open positions within the company
Develops and implements job advertising strategies, placing ads with appropriate agencies and media channels
Actively recruits candidates by attending job fairs, networking events, and community/school outreach programs, developing a pipeline of qualified individuals for future roles
Enters job opening and applicant information into computer databases or files
Provides information to applicants regarding application process, employment policies, organization, and open positions
Reviews applications, identifies qualified candidates, and scheduled interviews
Participates in the interview process as required
Plays a role in the hiring decision-making process, evaluating candidates and providing input
Manages the pre-employment screening process, including background checks, drug screens, physicals and other necessary screenings
Assists with the coordination and implementation of safety processes and procedures
Administers FMLA leaves, including processing paperwork, approving requests, and tracking employee usage
Functions as Payroll backup
Onboards new hires, including preparing orientation materials, processing employee data in the company HRIS and ERP system, completing I-9 and E-Verify, explaining benefits, and assisting with enrollment
Completes I-9 forms and maintains I-9 binder; performs quarterly audits
Manages the temporary employee process
Responds to employee inquiries and provides guidance on HR-related matters, including benefits, retirement plans, payroll, and leave policies
Partners with managers to address employee relations concerns, applying company policies and legal requirements to recommend solutions and ensure consistent application of disciplinary action
Maintains employee personnel files
Assists with employee events, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and activity planning
Provides support during the annual benefits open enrollment period
Assists with HR projects as assigned
Regular, physical attendance is required
Limited travel may be required

Required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Bachelor's degree in HR required
Minimum 3 years of previous Generalist experience required, with an emphasis on recruitment preferred
Basic Business Math skills required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including (Word, Excel, Email, PowerPoint), required
Prior experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is required
Must have experience posting job openings on various social media platforms to attract qualified candidates
Employment Law: A solid understanding of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO) is crucial
HR Principles and Best Practices: Knowledge of core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, employee relations, performance management, and HRIS
Talent Acquisition: Understanding of recruitment strategies, interviewing techniques, and candidate assessment methods
Compensation and Benefits: Knowledge of compensation structures, benefits administration, and compliance requirements related to benefits programs
Employee Relations: Understanding of employee relations principles, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures
Performance Management: Knowledge of performance management systems, goal setting, and performance evaluation processes
HRIS: Demonstrates knowledge using HR Information Systems (HRIS) to manage employee data and HR processes
Written Communication: Ability to write clear and concise policies, procedures, job descriptions, and other HR documents
Verbal Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with employees at all levels, conduct interviews, and deliver training
Active Listening: Ability to listen attentively to employee concerns and understand their needs
Relationship Building: Ability to build strong relationships with employees and managers
Empathy and Understanding: Ability to understand and respond to employee concerns with empathy and fairness
Conflict Resolution: Skills in mediating disputes and resolving conflicts effectively
Confidentiality: Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information is paramount
Problem Solving: Ability to evaluate different solutions and make sound decisions
Ability to read and comprehend multiple step instructions (in the English language), short correspondence, and memos
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, policies, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Preferred

PHR or SHRM-CP strongly preferred but not required
Experience as an HR Generalist in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
Prior experience in working with both safety and human resources is preferred
