Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and manage investment ideas across Technology, fintech, and digital assets infrastructure sectors
Conduct deep fundamental analysis, including frequent direct engagement with C-suite executives, founders, and industry leaders
Develop differentiated theses linking private market and venture-stage developments in crypto to publicly listed investment opportunities
Generate actionable long and short investment ideas, supported by clear catalysts, valuation frameworks, and industry insights
Construct and manage a focused book within the broader portfolio, maintaining disciplined risk management and adherence to overall portfolio guidelines
Exhibit thought leadership through participation in industry discussions - writing blogs, white papers, or contributing to podcasts that highlight differentiated perspectives on digital asset investing
Represent the firm at major investor and crypto conferences to enhance research access and strengthen the firm’s industry presence
Leverage or build allocator and LP relationships that can contribute to the strategic growth of the fund
Operate as an independent thinker with initiative and creativity while remaining a strong collaborator and team contributor
Travel as needed for due diligence, management meetings, conferences, and key industry events
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 10 years of relevant buy-side or sell-side equity investing experience, preferably within a long/short strategy
Demonstrated track record of idea generation and P&L contribution in Technology or digital asset-related public equities
Strong understanding of the crypto and blockchain ecosystem, with the ability to connect technology trends, on-chain data, and business fundamentals
Proven history of conducting executive-level diligence to generate differentiated insights
Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality investment notes and external content reflecting domain expertise
Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, performance-driven culture
Based in or willing to relocate to Chicago, with flexibility for frequent travel
Preferred
Portfolio management experience a plus
Thought leadership or network within the crypto investing community (e.g., attendance or speaker presence at events such as Messari Mainnet, Token2049, or SALT)
