Flight Test Operator

Auterion is building the leading software platform for AI-powered autonomous systems for enterprise and government customers. As a Flight Test Operator, you will work closely with developers and product teams to identify hardware and software issues, test new features, and assist with integration and testing of robotic systems. This role also involves customer-facing activities, representing Auterion at flight-ops events.

Responsibilities

Flight testing: fly, capture logs, submit bug reports, and provide feedback on new features
Assemble and maintain an internal fleet of test assets, and become an expert on robotic systems from our partner OEMs
Assist with end-user training events and demonstrations
Electrical and mechanical integration, modification, and prototyping. Mechanical design, 3D printing, soldering, assembly, mounting and wiring of electronic subassemblies
Become deeply knowledgeable on Auterion hardware and software, including Skynode, PX4, AuterionOS, Auterion Mission Control, and Auterion Suite
Assist with writing technical documentation, to include operators manuals and test procedures

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as Robotics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience operating within highly structured, repetitive processes (e.g. QA, manufacturing, or test operations), with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated piloting experience on multicopter UAVs in full manual mode
Demonstrated piloting experience on fixed-wing aircraft in manual mode
Hands-on experience with commercial or military drone platforms
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Practical experience building drones and/or RC aircraft
US citizenship required
