Responsibilities
The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and submission of monthly transactional state and local tax filings
This role reports directly to the Global Indirect Tax Manager
This role involves collaborating closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax filing, staying up to date with current tax regulations, and providing support during tax audits
Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data, identifying potential tax savings opportunities, and assisting in the development of efficient tax strategies to minimize liabilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Qualification
Required
Senior level experience and understanding of indirect state and local tax laws and regulations
Bachelors degree is a must have- in Accounting or Taxation preferred
Transactional tax training on the multi-state tax laws and rules relating to the hospitality and lodging industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong accounting background
Must be self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of various teams
Must be detail oriented, proactive and have good analytical skills
Ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets
Great organizational and time management skills
Familiarity with Indirect State and Local Taxes
Ability to remain even keeled, and professional in stressful situations; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Works effectively under pressure while meeting applicable deadlines
Excel proficiency - advanced (Must Have)
3 to 5 years overall tax experience is a Must Have; preferably in hospitality/lodging industry; some public accounting experience is plus
