Responsibilities
Complete tasks assigned
Works under the supervision of Senior Rail Engineer / Project Manager
Responsible for collecting field data, documenting and reporting field conditions and findings
Drafts design drawings
Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the year; 30% of the travel involves overnight stays. Travel may occur weeks at a time
Can pass background check
Has valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record
MicroStation / Geopak or AutoCAD or Civil 3D design software experience (and willing to learn MicroStation)
Microsoft Office software experience
Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred experience working with railroads
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, other engineering degrees will be considered if work experience is related to the transportation industry
0-2 years of progressive engineering experience including knowledge and experience in transportation roadway or railway design
Can pass background check
Has valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
MicroStation / Geopak or AutoCAD or Civil 3D design software experience (and willing to learn MicroStation)
Microsoft Office software experience
Good written and verbal communication skills
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
