Senior Clinical Design Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Clinical Design Engineer who will design and develop biomedical-related engineering systems, serve as a Technical Lead for projects, and mentor other staff while ensuring compliance with quality management systems.
Responsibilities
Designs and develops components of biomedical-related engineering systems, applying knowledge of complex principles, theories, concepts, tools and techniques to the design challenges
Serves as a Technical Lead for Division projects
Provides technical and work direction to project team members and completes technical work as needed
Mentors and coaches other staff as required
Developing skills in one or more engineering disciplines
Developing expertise in the use of unit-specific modeling and analysis tools and techniques
May lead in evaluating new technologies and capital equipment
Understands and complies with relevant portions of Division Quality Management System
Has unit-specific expertise in safety risk management
Working to develop expertise in regulatory requirements applicable to his/her unit
Self-starter who functions effectively in a multi-disciplinary development environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with team members, physicians and health care providers
Possesses effective oral communication and presentation skills
Develops engineering and technical documentation
Qualification
Required
BS in Engineering or a related field and 5 years of professional engineering experience; Or MS in Engineering or related field and 3 years of professional engineering experience; Or, PhD in Engineering or related field and 1 year of professional engineering experience
Preferred
Master's or PhD preferred
Have solid knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) concepts and execution, including design for additive manufacturing (DfAM)
Be familiar with or has experience in medical anatomic guide design and manufacturing
Be well-versed in 3D printing technologies and post-processing techniques
Possess a high level of communication skills and can collaborate with other medical professionals including engineers, radiologists, surgeons, medical specialists, qualified healthcare professions (QHCP's, e.g. nurse practitioners and physician's assistants), radiology technologists, and healthcare technology management techniques
Be flexible and innovative, working through design iterations to meet the needs of the provider, and can efficiently and effectively solve problems in real time
Have education and exposure to FDA compliant quality management techniques
Have a skillset that includes a high level of attention to detail and a high level of work standards, including documentation and the development of standard operation procedures
Focus on continuous process improvement in the AMU
Be experienced in using engineering design techniques to build and manufacture functional prototypes and parts to meet the needs of the provider
Familiarity with scripting language and leveraging workflow automation tools to enhance work processes and improving consistency
