Responsibilities
The ability to quickly understand complex systems and applications and map those to cloud architectures and solutions
A good general understanding of cloud architecture and hybrid on premise/cloud designs
Strong architectural understanding of all technical aspects of a cloud solution including networking, security, resilience and connectivity
Excellent communication and presentation skills with high degree of comfort speaking across all levels of management (e.g. IT management, Architects, administrators and executives)
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build virtual teams to deliver broad-based architecture deliverables
Some experience in engaging and influencing senior leaders would he highly desirable
Specifically for this position, a good understanding both from a technical and business point of view of Snowflake and Databricks product offering is a must
A wide breadth of knowledge of IT systems and applications and the IT industry in general
Previous experience of defining and enabling best-practice - especially n a cloud environment
Excellent problem-soling skills combined with the ability for abstracting complex problems
Good knowledge of Oracle database and familiarity and experience of Oracle database concepts, technology, tools and capabilities
Architecting high availability solutions using Oracle Database, Data Guard, RAC and related technologies
How to upgrade and migrate complex multi-tier systems while minimizing system outages
Building disaster recovery and failover capabilities for complex multi-tier systems, including multi-cloud deployments
Hands-on experience of cloud deployments. While any cloud experience will be considered, previous experience of Oracle OCI would be preferred
Basic developer skills and fluency in at least one back-end programming language - e.g. Java, Python, etc. - as well as having a working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
Acknowledged expert/professional within company and/or industry nationally and internationally
Provides leadership in the development and strategic direction of new products, processes, techniques
Acts as primary consultant on large projects that effect the organization’s long term objectives / strategy

10+ years of experience in software engineering or related experience

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.
