Responsibilities
Support emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed under supervision
Assist nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions
Perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection
Prepare patients for examinations/treatments including draping patients, opening sterile supplies, set up and removal of IV's
Assist in collection of patient history and ensures confidentiality of records
Clean and prepare rooms between procedures including changing of bed linens and restocking of room supplies
Transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary
Qualification
Required
Certified EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA
BLS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association
Preferred
One year of experience in a healthcare acute care setting
