They are seeking a Procurement Specialist II to manage purchasing responsibilities for a major group of services and commodities within the Department of Public Safety, including vendor identification and specification development.

Responsibilities

Review authorized requisitions
Make determination of appropriate acquisition procedure (order against existing State Contract, quote, bid, forward to State Purchase and Contract) based on nature of requisition item(s) and dollar amounts as authorized by State Law
Preparations of purchase orders
Coordinate execution of purchase agreements
Maintaining records and preparing reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel and manufacturer' representatives
Ability to apply and interpret established rules and regulations

Required

Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of procurement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel and manufacturer' representatives
Ability to apply and interpret established rules and regulations
Punctuality and good attendance to effectively perform the required duties

Preferred

Thorough working knowledge and understanding of large-scale purchasing methods and procedures
General knowledge of various services being procured
