Responsibilities
You will develop control system designs, develop, deploy, & commission Programmable Logic Controller code, and develop graphical user interfaces for material handling systems
You will test and emulate code functionality before on-site deployment and testing
You will troubleshoot PLC code and electrical equipment functionality on-site during commissioning and testing activities
You will collaborate with Electrical Engineering resources to support control network architecture requirements and design
You will define electrical device requirements for system control
You will support estimates for complex module development and system commissioning requirements
You will perform reviews of complex customer standards, specifications, and other documentation to determine system requirements
You will develop recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction
You will complete the software quality process through the execution of complex module, subsystem, and system test procedures
You can travel up to 60% of the year, working short-duration assignments up to and including multiple 10/4 rotations, depending on the project requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
Seven (7) years of work experience in the material handling industry or a similar industry required; a master's degree may be considered in lieu of experience, in which at least 5 years of work experience is required
Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC programming, including GuardLogix and Siemens TIA Portal PLC programming, including Starter
Experience with Ethernet/IP network architecture
Experience interpreting electrical schematic drawings and understanding HMI programming
Proven experience leading teams of controls engineers in large, complex material handling projects
Experience setting staffing schedules and adhering to project timelines and budgets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven interpersonal and customer service skills
Proven supervisory and leadership skills
Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment and deliver results to meet timelines
Eligible applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred
Experience with Industrial machine control development and troubleshooting
