Associate Director of Faculty Development (Lecturer)

This role involves creating, implementing, and evaluating faculty development programs, mentoring faculty, and collaborating with various departments to promote effective faculty engagement.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and evaluate in-person and virtual programs, learning communities, and/or resources for faculty development in professional areas outside of teaching
Ensure signature programs in the Associate Director portfolio are effectively delivered. The initial portfolio will consist of 2-4 signature programming areas, depending on the size of the programs and their associated workload. Portfolio areas may change over time based on Office needs, workload, and Associate Director interest and expertise
Contribute to office initiatives, including but not limited to faculty satisfaction research and programming retreats
Develop and maintain positive relationships with offices and colleges across the campus to deliver faculty programming. Collaborate effectively within the Provost’s Office (Faculty Diversity, Center for Teaching & Learning, IDEAS, Academic HR) and with relevant offices, such as the Office of Research and Engagement, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and with Deans and Associate Deans across the colleges

Required

Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent terminal degree is required for this non-tenure-track academic faculty position
Ability to develop, execute and evaluate evidence-based and impactful programmatic initiatives that respond to demonstrated needs
Demonstrated ability in building collaborative relationships across diverse and multi-disciplinary departments and colleges; ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with all stakeholders
Outstanding organization and communication skills and ability to effectively manage multiple demands simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Ability to motivate and lead a team of collaborators. Exceptional ability to facilitate collaborative projects, and to work cooperatively with staff, faculty, department chairs/heads, and administrators
Experience or familiarity with faculty development and/or organizational development in a higher education environment
