Responsibilities

Engage directly with customers—especially public policy professionals—to understand their goals, workflows, and technical constraints
Design and implement software customizations, integrations, and new features to meet customer needs
Rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy solutions based on real-world feedback
Collaborate closely with product and engineering to turn customer insights into scalable platform features
Own projects end-to-end, from customer conversation to production deployment
Help define best practices for forward-deployed engineering at Statt as we scale

Required

2+ years of professional software development experience
Experience interfacing directly with customers or stakeholders in a technical capacity
Strong proficiency in Python or comparable languages and familiarity with Typescript
Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases
Familiarity with modern software development tooling, including GitHub (or equivalent version control workflows)
Experience deploying or maintaining applications on cloud hosting platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)
Ability to translate ambiguous customer needs into concrete technical solutions
Strong communication skills and comfort working with non-technical users

Preferred

Experience working with or building SaaS products
Exposure to public policy, government, or regulated domains
Experience building data-driven or analytics-heavy applications
Comfort working in early-stage or fast-moving startup environments
