Responsibilities
Administer the workers’ compensation program, including claims intake, investigation, reporting, and follow-up
Coordinate with insurance carriers, claims adjusters, and legal counsel to manage claims efficiently and control costs
Monitor claims trends and implement strategies to reduce workplace injuries and claims frequency
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, state regulations, and industry standards
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all facilities
Lead safety committees and collaborate with department leaders to reinforce a culture of safety
Develop and deliver employee safety training, including infection control, lifting techniques, emergency preparedness, and equipment safety
Ensure staff are aware of safety policies and workers’ compensation procedures
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local workplace safety and workers’ compensation regulations
Prepare and submit required reports, such as OSHA logs and state workers’ compensation filings
Develop and manage return-to-work programs for injured employees to facilitate safe, timely reintegration
Analyze incident and claims data to identify trends, high-risk areas, and opportunities for improvement
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance safety and reduce claims
Partner with HR, operations, and nursing leadership to ensure alignment of safety and workers’ compensation programs with organizational goals
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in workers' compensation administration and/or occupational safety, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, or nursing home settings
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation laws, and best practices in workplace safety
Experience managing claims, safety programs, and return-to-work initiatives
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Human Resources, or related field preferred
Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or OSHA Training credentials is a plus
