Program Associate Willowbrook Consumer Advisory Board
The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. The Program Associate will participate in team meetings, evaluate individuals' needs, and monitor the quality of service provisions while acting on behalf of those not represented by guardians.

Responsibilities
Participate in annual, semiannual and other designated team meetings while acting "in loco parentis" for Willowbrook Class Members not represented by parents, relatives or guardians as well as those who have requested representation
Evaluate individuals' needs and interests
Evaluate the appropriateness of proposed residential setting, and educational/vocational program services
Monitor protection from harm, the quality of ongoing service provisions for individuals
Assist local parent advisory groups in fulfilling their responsibilities
Participate in community and parent education programs
Establish and maintain contact with local parent/consumer organizations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a human services field
Three years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Preferred
Preference will be given to OPWDD employees impacted by closures
If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee
