Responsibilities
Implement control, planning and perception algorithms on real hardware, taking into account physical constraints and system dynamics
Lead development of ROS2 modules; design experiments, perform real-time debugging and integrate new components into a coherent stack
Define and run tests for each module; optimise and refactor components individually after closed-loop integration
Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure mechanical and electrical integration is robust — understand pneumatic systems, power electronics and robotic tooling so that your code interacts safely with the physical world
Contribute to code-base architecture; maintain software quality, documentation and code reviews across the team
Provide input on system design for real-time robotics software
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineer or 5+ years of relevant experience; exceptional candidates with a bachelor's degree are encouraged to apply
Proficiency in modern programming languages such as C++ or Python, with experience working in large code-bases
Strong background in algorithms, data structures and software engineering; completion of at least two advanced computer-science courses (e.g. algorithms, data structures, operating systems or embedded systems)
Solid foundation in mathematics, including linear algebra as well as kinematics, dynamics and control theory
Hands-on experience with embedded systems or real-time operating systems; ability to write software that interacts with physical hardware under real-time constraints
Familiarity with ROS2 and debugging tools for real-time systems
Experience working with robotics hardware such as sensors, actuators, industrial robots or other automation equipment
Preferred
Internship or professional experience in robotics or automation is a plus
