Managing Director, Transaction Advisory Services
District Partners has been engaged by a top-tier, nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm to identify a senior-level leader for its Transaction Advisory Services practice. The Managing Director will support buy-side and sell-side transactions for private equity sponsors and strategic acquirers, while also focusing on practice growth and client development.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee multiple financial and accounting due diligence engagements simultaneously for middle-market and upper-middle-market transactions
Analyze historical financial statements, quality of earnings, working capital trends, and normalized EBITDA
Conduct management interviews and collaborate directly with buyers, sellers, and deal teams
Translate complex financial findings into clear, decision-useful insights for investors and executives
Manage engagement timelines, deliverables, and client expectations from kickoff through close
Develop, coach, and mentor Managers, Seniors, and Associates; provide formal performance feedback
Support business development efforts including proposal development, client meetings, and thought leadership
Build long-term relationships with private equity groups, corporate development teams, and internal service lines
Maintain strong technical command of U.S. GAAP and transaction advisory best practices
Qualification
Required
8–10+ years of experience in transaction advisory, financial due diligence, audit, or M&A advisory
Demonstrated ability to lead engagements and interact confidently with private equity professionals and C-suite executives
Proven experience supervising and developing teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Willingness to travel periodically (generally ~20% or less)
Preferred
Background in a Big Four or top-tier national / regional accounting or advisory firm strongly preferred
CPA license preferred (or progress toward certification)
