Alpha is seeking a Member of Technical Staff with a strong background in systems and backend engineering, particularly in Rust. The role involves designing and maintaining high-performance backend systems while collaborating with a technical team on core infrastructure and open-source projects.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend systems in Rust
Own critical infrastructure components with a focus on reliability, correctness, and efficiency
Make architectural decisions around concurrency, memory management, and system boundaries
Collaborate with ML and application engineers to support production workloads
Contribute to and maintain open-source Rust projects and internal libraries
Profile, benchmark, and optimize systems for latency, throughput, and resource usage
Set and uphold high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation

Required

Strong experience in Rust or comparable systems languages (with demonstrated Rust proficiency)
Background in systems, backend, or infrastructure engineering

Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, languages, and domains
