Human Resources Director – Employee Relations
Confidential company is seeking a Human Resources Director – Employee Relations to lead the strategy, development, and execution of employee relations programs. This role ensures a fair and legally compliant workplace while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership on complex employee issues and culture-building initiatives.

Responsibilities
Oversee all employee relations activities, ensuring timely, consistent, and legally compliant handling of workplace concerns
Lead investigations involving misconduct, performance issues, policy violations, and workplace conflicts
Develop and maintain employee relations policies, procedures, and best practices
Partner with legal counsel on high‑risk or sensitive matters
Monitors employee turnover trends by collecting, analyzing, and maintaining accurate turnover data, and prepares clear, actionable metrics and reports to support leadership decision‑making and workforce planning
Promote a workplace environment that supports diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
Provide guidance to leaders on performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and communication strategies
Train managers on employee relations topics, including documentation, coaching, and compliance
Serve as a subject-matter expert on HR policies and employment law
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Monitor trends in employee relations and recommend proactive solutions to reduce risk
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for investigations and employee relations cases
Support leaders in developing performance improvement plans and long-term development strategies
Partner with HR leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and change management initiatives
Collaborate with HR teams (Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits) to ensure alignment across the employee lifecycle
Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership on trends, risks, and opportunities
Provides guidance, support, and constructive feedback to help others grow, while modeling professionalism and accountability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
8+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant focus on employee relations
2+ years of experience conducting complex HR related investigations
In depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
Skill in assessing situations, evaluating options, and making well‑reasoned decisions that align with organizational goals
Skill in navigating interpersonal dynamics with empathy, self‑awareness, and professionalism, fostering positive and productive interactions
Ability to influence and build trust with leaders at all levels
Preferred
HR certifications (SHRM CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR)
