Business Development Director

Responsibilities

Direct involvement in top deals for tier-1 customer segment, drive complex deal structures and respond to bids (RFI/RFP/RFQ)
Development of a 5-year Strategic Plan narrative as it relates to business development by building pipelines for new business, growing and improving services
Working with Corporate Strategy and Product, identify market opportunities that are of strategic or tactical importance to Syniverse's long term success
Develop new business opportunity concepts from key trends identified from research sources or from new opportunity ideas generated from other internal functional departments
When developing new opportunities, collaborate with Syniverse sales and technical teams as well as partners where necessary to deliver the initial projects and trials
Identify technology and business partnerships that will create new opportunities for Syniverse or increase Syniverse’s footprint and relevance within strategic accounts
Deliver client facing presentations to articulate Syniverse’s vision for the future of specific markets within the context of the customer’s business
Build relationships with customers that support, renew and further penetrate existing accounts
Participate in the development of strategic customer planning sessions and reviews to identify potential opportunities for Syniverse

Required

Minimum 10 years of experience in solutions and services sales, including current experience, hunting/prospecting/new business development within the geographic area
Hands on working experience with top market players or major international Enterprises preferred
BS/BA, preferably in Business or Marketing
Must be adaptable, action & results oriented
Must have business savvy, strong negotiation skills, and ability to be pragmatic
Ability to solve practical problems involving a wide range of variables in creative ways
Knowledge of telecom infrastructure and business models
Knowledge of spreadsheet software and sales-related software
